Care Services
Personal Care and Support
We provide every resident with a personal care and support plan based on a thorough assessment of their needs and hold regular discussions with them about their needs and wants. This care plan is reviewed monthly, or more frequently if necessary. We try to maintain a working partnership with the resident, their relatives and friends. Each resident has their own named care staff member who is their key worker.
Health Care
A hairdresser visits the home every week and a private chiropodist once every 4-6 weeks, or on request. Each resident is assessed for any need for aids and appliances by a NHS occupational therapist. The home also provides all community health services, including complementary therapies, for example, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, community nursing, dentist, optician etc, in line with personal needs. Our care staff are trained in the safe handling of all medication prescribed or used by the resident; with the resident being given the opportunity to be responsible for their own medication.
Social Activities
Social activities are an integral part of life at The Knowle Care Home. We employ a Social Activities Co-ordinator who ensures that we offer a wide ranging selection of activities and stimulation for all of our residents. Feedback is continually taken from residents and their visitors to check that they are enjoying the activities and also to adapt our programme of activities to meet new requests.
Our wide range of activities take place both in the home and also out and about in the wider community. The Knowle Care Home is conveniently located in an attractive conservation area which is close to many areas of interest such as Preston City Centre, the Dockland area and many of the area's beautiful parks.
All of our staff are aware of how vital activities and stimulation are to the health and well being of our residents. It is for this reason that it is not only our Activities Co-ordinator who is involved in the activities but all of our care staff.
